The checker below is set up with a total that wrongly counts an optional line, so you can see how it reads.
Should optional items be included in a quote total?
No. Price optional items on the quote so the client can choose them, but leave them out of the total. A total that includes them asks the client to pay for work they have not agreed to.
Free, with no sign-up. Everything is worked out in your browser: nothing you type is sent to us or stored. Use figures excluding VAT.
Do the priced lines add up to the total?
Type the lines in, or paste them from the quote. A discount is a minus figure or one in brackets. Tick a line that is optional, so it is left out of the sum.

Where the figures come from
Every number this tool works with is one you enter. It uses no outside rate, threshold or date, so there is nothing to look up.
Where SUBR comes in
SUBR is AI software for UK contractors who send work out to subcontractors. Its AI reads your client quote, your office names each trade's share, and SUBR builds every scope with your costs, margin and client price left off it. Each subcontractor answers on their own link and sees only their own price.
See it on a quote
