Quote add-up checker

SUBR's free quote total checker adds up a quote's priced lines and says whether they reach the total the quote prints. Paste or type the lines and the printed total. It leaves out anything marked optional and counts discounts as minus figures.

Free, with no sign-up. Everything is worked out in your browser: nothing you type is sent to us or stored. Use figures excluding VAT.

Do the priced lines add up to the total?

Type the lines in, or paste them from the quote. A discount is a minus figure or one in brackets. Tick a line that is optional, so it is left out of the sum.

Why check

A total that does not match its lines goes out to a client, gets accepted, and the difference comes out of your profit. Optional lines added into the total by mistake are the usual cause, and so is a discount nobody took off.

SUBR does this on every quote

SUBR's AI runs the same check on every quote it reads, along with the client, the address and the dates, and your office approves the read before anything moves.

Questions

Should optional items be in the total?

No. An optional line is a price for something the client may add. It belongs on the quote but not in the total, or the client is asked to pay for something they have not chosen.

How close is close enough?

To the penny is best. The checker treats anything within a pound as matching, to allow for rounding on the lines.

Where the figures come from

Every number this tool works with is one you enter. It uses no outside rate, threshold or date, so there is nothing to look up.

Where SUBR comes in

SUBR is AI software for UK contractors who send work out to subcontractors. Its AI reads your client quote, your office names each trade's share, and SUBR builds every scope with your costs, margin and client price left off it. Each subcontractor answers on their own link and sees only their own price.
