How to choose
- If you price from drawings and need quantity takeoff, look at the products that say they do it: Procore and STACK.
- If your problem is the site, not the quote, look at site management: snag lists, inspections and plans. Fieldwire publishes its prices.
- If your quotes arrive and leave as PDFs, and the slow part is rebuilding the client's quote into a scope for each trade without showing your margin, that is what SUBR does.
- If you run a handful of jobs and a spreadsheet works, keep it. Our free tools do the common sums without a sign-up.
Questions
Which subcontractor quote software is best in the UK?
It depends on the job you need done. For takeoff and estimating from drawings, Procore and STACK say they do it. For site management with prices in pounds on the page, Fieldwire publishes them. For turning a client's PDF quote into a scope for each trade, with your margin kept private, that is the job SUBR is built for.
Is there free software for this?
Fieldwire's Basic plan is free for up to 5 users and 3 projects, and STACK's pricing page shows a free version of its takeoff tool. A spreadsheet costs nothing beyond your office software. SUBR is not free, but the calculators and checkers on this site are.
Which of these show prices in pounds?
Fieldwire and SUBR. Procore prices on request, STACK shows US dollars, and we could not check Buildertrend.
Is this comparison independent?
No. SUBR wrote it, and SUBR is one of the products compared. That is why every fact about another product links to the page it came from, with the date we read it.
